Who hunted,
But never killed,
Bringing the animals back
To his zoo
To be enjoyed
By all.
Whose heart was so tender
As a child
He wept
When the brush of his cloak
Swept the petals
Off a rose.
May the same gentleness, kindness,
Healing and grace
Come live in our hearts
As we remember
This day of his birth.
